RentalOS — A HAYKALI product
RentalOS is car-rental operations software owned and sold by HAYKALI, an independent software company. This page is a personal case study of the product-design and build work I did on it. AldalatiUX is my own design and web practice: it does not sell, price or support RentalOS.
The question the product is built around
A rental team starts each day asking what needs attention. The hardest version of that question is whether a given reservation is actually ready to hand over, and if it is not, why. RentalOS answers it with a deterministic readiness engine: explicit rules, stable reason codes and a localised message for every blocker. No language model decides a critical operational state.
My role
- Product design and UX: the daily-operations home screen, the flow from reservation to pickup to return, and the way a blocker is explained to the person who has to fix it.
- Multilingual interface: English, Turkish and Arabic, with real right-to-left layouts designed from the start rather than mirrored at the end.
- Application build: the Next.js application shell, localisation, roles and permissions, and the tenancy model in Supabase.
- Not my role: ownership, pricing, licensing and sales. Those belong to HAYKALI.
Design decisions
- The home screen answers one question, “What needs attention today?”, before it shows anything else.
- Every blocker carries a stable reason code, so the interface, the audit trail and support all refer to the same thing.
- Two organisations must never see each other’s data. Isolation is enforced in the database with row-level security, not only in the interface.
- A rental has to be completable without a payment gateway. Manual charges are optional records, never a prerequisite.
- English, Turkish and Arabic have to work on phones and keyboards, because the people at the counter and in the car park are not at a desk.
Where the product stands
Built so far: the application shell, English, Turkish and Arabic localisation with RTL, the multi-tenant database schema with row-level security, and secure onboarding (sign-in, invitations, organisation and branch creation). In development: vehicles, customers, reservations, assignment, readiness, and the pickup-to-return workflow. This page reports no customers, results or usage figures because there are none to report yet.
Ownership
RentalOS is a HAYKALI product. HAYKALI is a separate company from AldalatiUX, and its pricing, subscriptions, licensing and support are handled by HAYKALI, not by this site.
Frequently asked questions
Does AldalatiUX own RentalOS?
No. RentalOS is a HAYKALI product. AldalatiUX is Moayad Aldalati’s personal practice for UI/UX design and web development, and it does not own or sell software products.
Can I buy or subscribe to RentalOS through this website?
No. This website has no RentalOS pricing, checkout or sign-up. Subscriptions, licences and sales are handled by HAYKALI.
What was Moayad’s role on RentalOS?
Product design, the multilingual English, Turkish and Arabic interface, and building the application. Ownership of the product belongs to HAYKALI.
Can you design and build a similar system for my own company?
For the UI/UX design and web development of your product, yes: that is what AldalatiUX does as client work. Ready-made and custom operational software sold as a product or system is HAYKALI’s business.
