Car Rental Platform · Booking UX · RentSyst Integration Review
A car rental platform connected to RentSyst for booking and order management. My work focused on improving the customer booking experience, reviewing how prices and insurance were handled in the frontend flow, and making the website clearer and more reliable before launch.
Project Context
Auris Cars rents vehicles to customers who book online, with reservations and orders managed in RentSyst, a third-party rental platform. The website is the only part of that journey the customer actually sees: it has to present the fleet, communicate the real cost, and hand a correct reservation to the platform behind it.
The Problem
The booking experience needed better pricing clarity and consistency between what customers saw on the website and what RentSyst calculated during the order flow. Part of the issue came from local frontend calculations, and from insurance being applied to the RentSyst order without being clearly visible to the customer.
Target Users
- Customers renting a car for a defined period, comparing vehicles and total cost before committing
- Arabic-speaking and English-speaking customers in Syria and Türkiye
- Mobile-first users completing the whole booking on a phone
- Staff who receive and manage the resulting reservation inside RentSyst
Main User Journey
- Browse the fleet and understand what each vehicle includes
- Choose dates and pick-up details
- See the price, including any extras that affect the total
- Confirm and submit the reservation
- The order is created and managed in RentSyst
Constraints
- RentSyst is an existing third-party platform: its quote and order behaviour had to be worked with, not replaced
- Pricing had to reconcile between what the site displayed and what the platform calculated
- The experience had to serve customers across two countries, in Arabic and English
- Work happened ahead of launch, so fixes had to be stable rather than experimental
Work Delivered
I reviewed the frontend booking flow and the RentSyst quote/order behavior, traced the pricing mismatch to local total calculation on the site, surfaced the hidden insurance cost, and made prices and extra costs clearer to the customer before booking, then applied final UI and build fixes for launch.
Objective
SEO, GEO, and AEO improvements were implemented to strengthen Auris’s visibility across traditional and AI-assisted search for relevant car-rental queries in Syria. This is the stated goal of that work, not a claimed ranking or measured result (see Verified Result below).
